As banks disclose the extent of the current problems and more and more companies and individuals have difficulty raising funds to finance property transactions, we need a Chancellor who can inspire confidence and has a clear vision for the British economy.
Instead, we have had two embarrassing climbdowns over reforms to capital gains tax and rules governing non-domiciled taxpayers.
He is clearly not his own man at the Treasury. And he shows no signs of a vision for the economy.”
